Outlook Express Setup
for InterKan.Net POP3 & SMTP e-mail services
For Outlook Express
5.x or higher
The following are instructions for setting up Outlook Express
on Windows XP.
1. Open Outlook Express
2. Click on “Tools” from the top
menu and select “Accounts
2. Click on the “Add” button and then “Mail…”
3. Enter your full name (first and last) for the “Display Name.”
Click “Next >”.
4. Enter your e-mail address (e.g. xxxxxxxxx@interkan.net).
Click “Next >”.
5. Enter “pop.interkan.net” for the Incoming mail (POP3,
IMAP or HTTP) server and “mail.interkan.net” for the
Outgoing mail (SMTP) server. Click “Next >”.
6. Enter your Password,
leave Account
Name alone. Click “Next >”.
7. Click “Finish”.
8. Double-click on the newly created account named “pop.interkan.net”.
9. Click the “Servers” tab, check “My
server requires authentication” & click “OK”
10. You are done, click “Close” on the Accounts window and begin using your e-mail.
11. To check for new messages, click the “Send and Receive” button.
