Domain Names Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What if the name is unavailable?
A: If the name is taken, you must select another domain name or try registering the same name with a different top level extension (.com, .org, net, etc.).
Q: What does a domain name cost?
A: $14.95 per year and you can register (pre-pay) for up to 10 years.
Q: Does this include any services?
A: Yes, free web URL forwarding, free mail forwarding, and DNS services provided by the registrar Joker.com are included but intended for very limited use and you may need to upgrade to full services. Please contact sales if you have questions or to activate any services.
Q: Why must Owner Address be verified?
A: According to the current ICANN Policies, it is mandatory for all registrars, to verify the validity of the email addresses of the Whois owner contact. This is done by Joker.com sending an email to the new owner address, containing a link to be clicked by the owner.
Independent from this, your domain order will be processed as usual, and your ordered domains are usable immediately, but the email verification has to be done within 14 days.
This verification only has to be performed once per email address, already verified addresses do not need to be verified again. If the verification of the email address is not finished within 14 days, the affected domains must be suspended.
Q: How do I update my Whois data for my domain?
A: You must go to www.joker.com and login. If you have not setup a login before, then click on "forgot your password?" and they will send you information. After you login, just update your contact information.
Q: How do I renew?
A: When your domain name is nearing expiration, you will start to receive email reminders asking you to renewal your domain name. You may reply back to these emails or contact Accounts & Billing via our email form with how many years you wish to renew for. We will then invoice you via email.
